About Me

Saad Saad riding a bikeBack in the 1980’s, Dr. Saad Saad received a great opportunity to work as a personal pediatric surgeon for the royal family in Saudi Arabia. He received this job since he was the only pediatric surgeon that was certified by the board in the United States, who would speak both English and Arabic in a fluent manner. He resided in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with his family for four and a half years.

Born in Palestine and raised in Kuwait, Saad Saad grew up with his seven siblings. 47 years ago, he joined Cairo University where he obtained a medical degree with honors, coming second in his class. Saad went for an internship in England and later moved to the United States of America. He then undertook a residency in pediatric surgery and became board-certified for this occupation. To be certified by the board in the U.S, one has to undergo progressive surgical practices, specialized training, and excelling in challenging tests and exams that are taken every ten years.

While at Riyadh, Dr. Saad Saad was based at King Specialist Hospital. The chief and protocol office of the medical facility would call him in to perform from the least to the most complicated surgical procedures. He performed surgery on the youngest kid to ever be admitted with an aneurysm, inspiring a global scientific journal to broadcast the details of the incident for others to be enlightened. Dr. Saad was a highly respected surgeon by all other members of the hospital as his experience and skills were exceptional. His opinions on whether to fly a patient out of the country for surgery or to undertake it from the hospital were taken very seriously.

After Dr. Saad Saad had served his time at King Faisal Hospital, he had to return to the United States for his children to attend local schools. Currently, he is retired and resides in Red Bank, New Jersey. Before his retirement, he served as the co-medical director and surgeon-in-chief at the K Hovnanian Children Hospital. He states that if a needy Palestinian refugee could become successful in the United States, anyone can make it through perseverance and hard work. He also recommends people to read any books written about President Abraham Lincoln. He goes further to say that human beings are all equal in God’s eyes. Through his profession, he clearly understands that all human beings are similar in that they all have the same organs regardless of the religion, color, or race.

Dr. Saad did much more than performing surgical procedures as he also assisted in the creation and development of a surgical residency program. He facilitates the establishment of a working connection with the Royal College of Surgeons in England to enable students to obtain their United Kingdom certification in Saudi Arabia. As a result of his great works, a large number of students in Saudi Arabia have the opportunity to undergo surgical training from their motherland instead of having to travel abroad for the same.
